A Day Enjoying Hiroshima-Style Okonomiyaki at Dotonbori and Relaxing at Doutor (2025/12/29)
Today, I went to Dotonbori to enjoy some Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. I first ordered the Hiroshima-Style Okonomiyaki Mix (1,510 yen, tax included) and a draft beer (600 yen, tax included). This time, I decided to try cooking it myself on the teppan. As the aroma of cabbage rose from the grill, I managed to shape it with my inexperienced hands. It turned out a bit uneven, but once I added the sauce and mayonnaise, the crisp texture of the cabbage was delightful, and it became a very satisfying dish. The pairing with beer was perfect, and before I knew it, I found myself wanting another one.
So I ordered a Modern-Yaki (930 yen, tax included) and another beer. This time, I asked the staff to cook it on the teppan for me. Watching the professional skills up close made the waiting time enjoyable. Just seeing it come together on the grill stimulated my appetite, and I savored it slowly while it was still hot.
Inside the restaurant, there were elderly couples and mothers with children, giving me the impression that it’s a place loved by families as well.
After the meal, I headed to Doutor Coffee for a refreshing break and ordered a Blend S (280 yen, tax included). A young man who seemed to be a student was studying with headphones on to my right, and another student was studying in front of me. There were also men and women reading books, each enjoying their own quiet time, which left a pleasant impression. The café also had free Wi-Fi, making it convenient for studying or working.
Filled with delicious Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and ending the day with a relaxing cup of coffee, it turned out to be a wonderfully pleasant day.
That’s all.
